It gives us great pleasure to welcome three new members to our Toastmasters club.

Caroline (club president) welcomes Robyn, Andrew and Melanie

We always like to ask new members to share with us some of the reasons why they joined Toastmasters. Here is what they have to say…

Robyn:

I joined St-Lawrence Toastmasters to not only practice my public speaking skills in French and English but to become more assertive in all areas of my life by communicating with purpose and integrity. As someone more soft-spoken, this is a challenge for me but one that I’m excited to take on. This in turn will have a big impact on my journey as an aspiring entrepreneur!

Andrew:

I heard about Toastmasters through an acquaintance and a podcast I listen to. Through positive reviews, I decided to try it as a guest. Upon coming to St. Lawrence Toastmasters, I really liked the group vibe for constant improvement and encouragement. My motivation for joining is to become a better communicator in work and social situations. I feel with the welcoming and positive environment at St. Lawrence I can accomplish this goal and am always excited to learn more about speaking and about the club members who are always there to help and encourage.

Melanie:

I am naturally a very shy and reserved person. Public speaking has always been challenging but over the years, I have made it one of my goals to improve my public speaking and communication skills. After participating as a guest at a few toastmasters meetings, I know that this club will help me reach my potential.
