We always like to ask our new members to share with us the reasons they decided to join our club.

Here is what Caroline writes:

I recently decided to join Toastmasters (for a second time and this time with the intention of being totally engaged) for several reasons :

Communication is a way to show what we are about and who we are.  With that regards, Indians talk about developing the 5^th chakra. I feel this is something in my life that needs improvement.  In the past, I have tested myself with running marathons, my studies and getting a black belt in karate.  Now my new challenge is public speaking.  Why public speaking?

• To develop leadership skills
• To inspire
• Personal growth
• Use the audience as a lab for feedback for work related discussion topics (products and services)

I have decided to join the St-Lawrence Toastmasters Club mostly because I see the group as being very diversified culturally, professionally and age-wise.  There is also a family atmosphere that I like and this distinction made me adopt the club as my new household where I can grow to give and to receive.
