Si les membres du club ont apprécié le concours tenu au club St-Lawrence Toastmasters à Montréal le 21 septembre dernier, la juge en chef en a tiré également beaucoup de satisfaction.  Marie-Paule Gagnon, présidente sortante, nous partage son expérience :

Tout a commencé par la lecture des règlements du concours. Puis, avec l’aide de Véronique et d’Italo, il s’agissait de déterminer qui exercerait chacune des fonctions et de préparer les documents nécessaires : juges de concours d’évaluation, juges de concours de discours, bris d’égalité, scrutateur, huissière, préposés aux chronomètre, et ce, en anglais et en français! Aussi, envoyer un petit mot à l’animatrice de la soirée.

Ce que je retiens de l’expérience :

• J’ai eu la collaboration de tous (c’est merveilleux!).
• La prochaine fois : j’enverrai une copie électronique à chacun d’avance. Et je fixerai une heure précise pour la séance d’information.

Last Thursday Sept 23^rd and Friday the 24^th , I was in Toronto.  When I’m in Toronto my routine is very simple: See as many clients and prospects during the day. Then I have dinner by myself and stay in my hotel room, watch TV and eat Doritos all night.

I decided to keep away from the TV and Doritos and break away from tradition. I decided to attend a Toastmasters meeting in T.O.  After all my research  in District 60, I finally found an advanced TM Club which met on a Thursday night.  They were called the ”Top of Toronto Select Speakers” Toastmasters Club .

They were so accommodating and had me as a guest speaker.  I recited my District winning speech and in I must say in all humility, they were impressed, and very happy I attended.

Most importantly, they were true Toastmasters: Welcoming, Warm, Friendly and made me feel as though I’ve known them for years.

I think it’s a good idea to write about this in our Website and Thank the “Top of Toronto Select Speakers ” for their hospitality and to tell them (as I did) they are always welcome to visit St. Lawrence Toastmasters club in Montreal whenever any one of them is in La Belle Province.
