This was a suggestion from our longtime member Jown Fowler, who went to see the movie just before Christmas eve:
“Just saw “The King’s Speech” at the cinema last evening. This is a great film, a “must see” for Toastmasters, even a good lesson in English history.“
The movie was a nominee for the Golden Globe award of Best Motion Picture – Drama, and it’s main actor Colin Firth won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama .
From the official website: “Based on the true story of King George VI, THE KING’S SPEECH follows the Royal Monarch’s quest to find his voice.”
