Here are the winners of our Table Topics Club Contest that was held on February 9th :

Elodie and Marie-Paule will therefore represent our club at the Area level, on March 2nd.  (By the way, the 2010 Toastmasters Area 53 Speech Contest will take place right here in Montreal at our club.)

St. Lawrence Toastmasters Oscars Night

Our Oscars Night was also held on that same evening.  The Oscars are to congratulate our members who were “the best of 2009”, based on the results of contests of every meeting between January 1st, 2009 and December 31st, 2009.

There are 2 special prizes for members that made the difference in our club; the winners of these 2 awards were chosen  by the executive committee.  The best improved member of 2009 is Mathieu Savage. The Toastmaster of the year is Alex Chan.  Thank you Mathieu and Alex for your devotion to the club, and the ardour you give to improve and give the best of yourselves.

We also had the honour of having our Area Governor, Hepta Deslandes, visit us. She rewarded one of our members that accomplished all the 10 project  speeches of the basic manual. Having most recently reached the level of Competent Communicator, Alex Chan received the Pin of District 61 with the motto “Take your passion, make it happen!”.
